There is no proof, so to speak. Originally, the idea of reinsertion came from a malfunctioning Agent program who was more worried about his own agenda than the good of the system; his purpose. He would've told Cypher anything to get his hands on the Zion Mainframe's access codes. Can you really trust every word that came out of his mouth?

Agent Gray, on the other hand, had no reason to hide that fact to Cryptos. Revealing that there was indeed a procedure - as everyone already thought - would not necessarily mean he would've agreed to reinsert him. Hence, there was no reason for him to lie about it.

You could then suggest the idea that Gray wanted Cryptos - and the cypherites - to believe there was no such thing, so it would perhaps weaken their resolve. Then again, Cryptos came to Gray asking him for reinsertion. It wasn't Agent Gray who came out and stated it for no obvious reason. He merely answered a question. If he wanted to lie to the cypherites, he could've easily done it years ago.

Well you have to keep in mind that Gray does have a bit of the Smith virus in him, which is why he is mostly escorted when he talks to Machinist Operatives.

Also, Gray and Pace did lie by omission, they never corrected the idea of reinsertion and they knew that the Cypherite (before this LE) believed it was possible to be reinserted.

So, I do think Gray and Pace are both capable and have lied.

RE: Reinsertion
I'll keep this simple:

Agents do not tell lies. They tell selective truths.

Reinsertion should be possible. If machines can put millions of humans in pods, that can put 1 or 2 a month back in, especially for some information that will assimilate the pesky 1%.

Morpheus said it wasn't possible, and (in my perspective) he believed that because he had never seen it before. So yes, Cypher was the first human in this version of the cycle to suggest it. That's why the org was named after him.

At the SOE Block Party Rarebit and Chadwick both said something about reinsertion not being possible due to the fact you had already denied the simulation once, and that despite how many reinsertions are done to an individual, their brain would continue to try and break free of the illusion

A traitor would deserve such a fate.

*nods* Which is what I mentioned earlier. A successful reinsertion involves not just being put back into the pods, but having your memories erased and staying in the Matrix for the rest of your life.

RE: Reinsertion
As a CYPH though you became tired f the Real world. I.e. Zion, Machine or Exile. So they joined the CYPH movement in order to one day be put back. Their brains would have accepted re-insertion as its what they desire more than anything! Memories I couldn't see being a hard thing. I mean lets look at the Athlete in "World Record". He didn't seem to have an overwhelming desire to find out what happened when he temporarily woke up!? He seemed to have that knowledge erased perhaps.

The fact of Agents. Well they are simply enforcers of the program itself. To protect blue pills and maintain the illusion at any cost! Nowadays if that means killing redpills to do so then so be it! I believe they were informed when they "asked the source" the answer no was given. Reinsertion is not possible in order to protect the assets they had in place.

Lets look at an example of reinsertion 6 times over yes?

Neo. Every time Neo's code was used to "restart" the Matrix, his body was replaced inside a POD, his memories of his old- self erased and the cycle started again. When Neo went to the Architects room between both worlds, he saw the former versions of himself. They were identical, therefore giving the idea that he was reinserted. So I believe it is possible.

Finally to address the fact that we are reconstructing the Matrix itself in order to get back in. We need to free the Humans still trapped inside! In a peaceful manner! Zionite Forever!

Hmm, I always thought the program that Neo carried inside of him was just that, a program. I always thought that when the machines needed to reset the Matrix, and destroy Zion, they'd just insert the program into a random bluepill, and then lead Zion to that bluepill to wake him up. I just thought that scene in The Architect was just showing many thoughts and feelings that Neo was experiencing as The Architect explains to him about the cycle, about the one and what his purpose was.

I saw it that way as well. If Neo was the same person each time, the Merovingian could easily track him down and use him, possibly get him on his side. He did mention he faced the past versions of the One.

Exactly. You know, from time to time, I'd want The Wachowski Brothers to create a prequel to The Matrix showing the path of a previous One, however I am reminded of the Star Wars prequel, and I forget the whole idea.

RE: Reinsertion
Neo could have been cloned by the machines making him identical to his former self and just assigned parents. He was about 30 years old upon extraction.

Anyway, Cypherites I used to argue with used to claim that they chose to be CYPH to protect coppertops, not to be reinserted. That may have been after Rarebit changed the rules.
